Savoy to Chair Alabama Trucking Association

Oct. 24, 2013

Abbeville, Ala. -

Kevin Savoy, vice president of logistics for Greenbush Logistics, Inc., was selected by the Alabama Trucking Association to serve as the Chairman of its Board of Directors for a one-year term.

"This is without question the highlight of my career,” said Savoy, who oversees day-to-day operations for Greenbush Logistics, Inc., in Abbeville, Ala. "I am honored to lead this Association, and look forward to working with our executive board, the ATA membership, and the Association staff to make Alabama’s trucking industry stronger.”

Originally from Mobile, Ala., Savoy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Products from Auburn University. He was hired by Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated, to manage the expansion of its Mobile facility and subsequent construction projects. By 2004, the company had grown and the need for a more centralized trucking operation arose. Greenbush Logistics was spun off into its own separate entity; Savoy was tapped to spearhead the trucking operation.

“Kevin is a committed, forward-thinking leader, and I am confident that the Alabama Trucking Association will thrive under his leadership,” said Jimmy Rane, President and CEO of Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated. “I look forward to seeing the results of Kevin’s and the Alabama Trucking Association’s efforts reflected in Alabama’s trucking industry.”

With the appointment, Savoy’s agenda for the 2013-2014 fiscal year includes initiatives to bolster member numbers, increase existing membership involvement in ATA events and special projects (especially among trucking firms), and improve the industry’s public image for economic development and industry safety and professionalism.
